  • Ferdinand Magellan's family in porto was Portuguese minor or secondary level nobility (Flores, 2017).
  • Ferdinand Magellan "discovered" the islands of the Philippines and named them: Archipelago of San Lazaro (TIMELINE OF PHILIPPINE HISTORY, 2020).
  • Magellan was posthumously declared the first to circumnavigate the world (Flores, 2017).

  • Corazon Aquino led a people's victory rally at Luneta where she called for civil disobedience (News, 2017).
  • On February 23, 1986, the road between the camps was a sea of people demanding Marcos to resign (News, 2017).
  • Marcos and his officials mobilized forces. Columns of armored tanks formed barricades. But Filipinos came in droves and filled the streets of EDSA, acting as a shield of sorts that stopped the tanks from coming close to where Enrile and Ramos were (News, 2017).

  • The president of the first Philippine Republic in 1899 (Emilio Aguinaldo, First President, 2002).
  • Started as a member of the Magdalo Chapter of the Katipunan in Cavite (Emilio Aguinaldo, First President, 2002).
  • Was born into the local elite of Cavite on the island of Luzon in the Philippines (Emilio Aguinaldo, First President, 2002).

  • Weather officials said "Yolanda" had sustained winds of 235 kph (147 mph) with gusts of 275 kph (170mph) when it made landfall (Press, 2013).
  • It Struck 171 localities in the Visayas region on November 8, 2013 (Press, 2013).
  • About 15,000 died due to the typhoon (Jr & Felipe, 2015).

  • Was a Filipino lawyer, politician, World War II veteran and kleptocrat who was President of the Philippines from 1965 to 1986 (Ferdinand Marcos (1965-1986) 10th President, 2017). 
  • Marcos declared Martial Law on September 21, 1972 (Ferdinand Marcos (1965-1986) 10th President, 2017).
  • On August 21, 1983, opposition leader Benigno Aquino Jr. was assassinated on the tarmac at Manila International Airport. The opposition blamed Marcos directly for the assassination while others blamed the military and his wife, Imelda (Ferdinand Marcos (1965-1986) 10th President, 2017).
